Objectives of Jesuit Education

Jesuit Education is inspired by the vision drawn from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is based on the principles of CHARACTER formation elaborated by Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. It aims to develop the whole person to be fully human, fully Indian and truly modern.

Students are encouraged to:

  • Become mature, spiritually oriented individuals of character.
  • Strive for excellence in all fields.
  • Use their freedom judiciously.
  • Be clear and firm on principles, courageous in action, and unselfish in service.
  • Become agents of social change ensuring justice, equality, freedom, and respect for values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Examinations

There will be two semesters each year with exams at the end of each semester and two internal assessments per semester. Students must secure at least 40% in each subject to be promoted. Absence from an exam results in loss of grades. No re-examinations will be conducted. Medical certificates are mandatory for illness-related absences. Minimum 90% attendance is required for final exams.

Promotions

Promotion is based on year-round performance, attendance, and steady work. Failure in two or more subjects requires repeating the class. Consistent neglect of any subject is not condoned. No retests are conducted; results are final. Repeated failures may lead to dismissal from school.
